Where'd my government data go?
Finding rescued government data

We are aware of concerns surrounding purged (and potentially purged) government datasets and are receiving requests for support around this issue. We appreciate that this is a difficult and uncertain time, as many researchers across the U of A depend on government-provided data in their daily work, both in and out of the classroom.
A number of organizations and individuals are actively working to preserve and provide access to data. The most prominent coordinating group is the Data Rescue Project. Get started here to find purged datasets, learn about ongoing efforts, and use the tools and resources to participate in these efforts for the larger academic community.
Here are other sources for removed data, in addition to the ones linked above:
- PolicyMap (Census data; UA NetID required)
- Harvard’s Data.gov archive (various data sources)
- Harvard’s Dataverse (various data sources)
- ICPSR (various data sources)
