Get resources to find archived federal government data

Due to various circumstances, federal data that was once accessible may become unavailable from the original federal source. The University of Arizona Libraries appreciates that many researchers across the U of A depend on federal data in their daily work, both for research and instruction, and understand how disruptive data loss can be. However, many organizations and institutions actively work to archive federal and other data for future use, often referred to as Data Rescue efforts. If federal data you depend on for research or instruction is no longer available from its original source, the University of Arizona Libraries can support you in locating archived versions elsewhere or other data sets that may meet your needs.

  • PolicyMap (Census data; UA NetID required)
  • Harvard’s Data.gov archive (various data sources)
  • Harvard’s Dataverse (various data sources)
  • ICPSR (Census and other data sources)
